Elizabeth J. Stroble

Webster University

Elizabeth J. Stroble was named chancellor of Webster University in Missouri in 2019 after serving for ten years as president. She previously was senior vice president and provost at the University of Akron, having earlier served as dean of the school of education. Earlier, she was associate dean of the school of education at the University of Louisville. Under Stroble’s leadership, Webster has received regional and national recognition for its diversity and inclusion efforts, including by
U.S. News & World Report for Economic Diversity, as a Top Performer in Social Mobility, as a Best College for Veterans, and as a Best Value School.
Diverse: Issues in Higher Education cited Webster for conferring more MBA degrees to students of color than any other nonprofit institution of higher education in the United States. In 2019, Stroble was named by Diverse as one of the top 35 women making an impact in higher education. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the CIC Board of Directors.
