Joan M. Lescinski, CSJ, has served as president of St. Ambrose University in Iowa for more than 13 years. She previously was president of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College for nine years. Before that, she served as vice president for academic affairs and dean at Fontbonne University, associate dean of academic affairs at Avila University, and professor of English at the College of Saint Rose. Lescinski serves on the boards of trustees of the College of Saint Rose and Mount St. Mary’s University. She is currently a member of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce board of directors, the Regional Opportunities Council, and the Putnam Museum board of trustees. She has served as a trustee for the Higher Learning Commission and the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. Lescinski earned BA and MA degrees from the College of Saint Rose and a PhD from Brown University, all in English literature.
