William C. Deeds

Morningside College

William C. Deeds retired in 2020 from his role as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Morningside University, where he served for 20 years and was named provost emeritus. Previously, he served Moravian College as dean for academic affairs and professor and chair of the department of psychology. His interests include liberal education, assessment of student learning, faculty and staff hiring and development, and using data effectively for planning and decision making. Deeds is a frequent presenter at CIC’s Workshops for Department and Division Chairs and the Institute for Chief Academic Officers. He received CIC’s Chief Academic Officer Award in 2016.
