CIC is introducing an enhanced set of benchmarking reports. The Key Indicators Tool (KIT) and Financial Indicators Tool (FIT) are now CIC Insights Tool.
The original KIT & FIT were developed by Mike Williams of the Austen Group in 2004 and served CIC’s members well for over two decades. In 2025, CIC partnered with UQ Solutions to develop the enhanced CIC Insights Tool with interactive dashboards. We will continue to improve the tool and add new features over time.
The new CIC Insights Tool is intended to help you do three things:
- Understand your institution’s metrics compared to self-curated peers
- Prioritize areas for attention and potentially set targets
- Communicate your findings with key stakeholders across your campus
In February 2026, CIC and UQ Solutions will offer webinars to help you understand how to access and navigate the CIC Insights Tool. In the meantime, this video provides an introduction to navigating the CIC Insights Tool. We have also developed a user guide within the CIC Insights Tool.
For those who would like to see reports in the style of the legacy KIT & FIT, those are available within the new tool as well.
