Accounting
How can businesses manage finances and other resources in a way that honours Christ? Today’s top-performing businesses require accountants to effectively and honestly measure profit, asset accumulation, and good financial ratios. Redeemer’s Accounting program equips students to consider how financial sustainability can help businesses go even further in providing excellent products and services, showing integrity in the management of people and resources, and valuing environmental sustainability and stewardship, among other possibilities.
Applied Social Sciences
Social transformation doesn’t happen overnight. But when building relationships, developing communities, and understanding our place in society, whose responsibility is it to pursue social justice? Redeemer’s distinct, interdisciplinary Applied Social Sciences program helps students to develop an in-depth understanding of our world within a Christian framework, preparing graduates to act justly and love mercy when helping, and working with, people of all walks of life.

Biblical and Theological Studies
Deepen your understanding of the Christian faith and life by exploring its Biblical roots, theological framework, missional thrust, ethical calling, historical development, and global context. Redeemer’s Biblical and Theological Studies program leans into the rich diversity of denominations represented on campus to develop a deeper understanding of how theology, the Bible, and worldview collide and remain relevant for modern Christians.
Biochemistry
The study of molecules is one of the more important research-active scientific disciplines. Learn about the molecular structure and potential uses of nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates… how do they work? And what happens when they don’t? Changes and new developments in biochemistry happen at a rapid pace and the need for well-trained Christian scientists becomes even more critical. Biochemistry plays an important role in our world today and grounding yourself in a Biblical perspective prepares you to grapple with the inevitable ethical and philosophical questions that arise.
Biology
From molecules to human bodies to ecosystems: investigate the complexity, diversity and intricacy of living organisms. Take your curiosity and awe of the natural world to the next level by digging deeper into the wonder of God’s creation to better understand the Creator. Redeemer’s Biology program equips students to be informed and experienced contributors to the field, with a strong foundation on stewarding in caring for and cultivating creation.
Business
A general degree in business, tied into Redeemer’s interdisciplinary programs, sets students up to be successful employees and entrepreneurs. Skills are honed, theories and concepts are practiced, but what sets students apart is their work ethic, grounded in a Biblical framework that prepares them to be successful business people who are innovatively and creatively seeking new ways to shape and reflect Christ in the workplace.
Chemistry
The study of chemistry is so much more than just understanding the nature of matter; it also includes creating new forms of matter that have never existed before. Redeemer’s Chemistry program equips students to work in the field of chemistry, preparing them to express their God-given creativity in unfolding and developing the potential that lies within God’s creation.
Church Music Ministry
Develop a deep and broad understanding of worship and music’s role in it, drawing upon long traditions while envisioning what music means for contemporary life and worship in a variety of settings. Redeemer’s Church Music Ministry program brings together Scriptural inspiration, creative endeavour, and service to the church and broader society.
Education Program
The B.Ed. program has been designed to include 110 days of practical teaching experience. Placements begin in the first semester with candidates working with students for up to 20 days in connection with their Educational Psychology course. The remaining three semesters, candidates participate in focused course work for the first six weeks, followed by six weeks of practicum placement. Practicum placements provide the vital theory/practice link as candidates reflect on what they have learned in their courses and apply these learnings in the classroom.
English Literature
Reading literature, whether Christian or non-Christian works, whether from the past or from the present, provides an important perspective of the world we live in. Redeemer’s English Literature program prepares students to find their place and calling in the world by equipping them to read analytically, speak clearly, and write persuasively, finding threads of common grace and redemption in all materials, and asking how is God using language and literature to redeem our broken world.
English Writing
Reading the works of accomplished writers, whether Christian or non-Christian; whether from the past or from the present, provides an important perspective of the world we live in. Redeemer’s English Writing program equips students to articulate their unique perspectives and worldview and to write clearly and persuasively through a wide range of writing genres. Through a maturing of comprehension and communication skills, learn to critique the work of others, as well as your own, to help give a strong voice to your ideas and stories and to use your passion for writing to make a difference in the world.
Environmental Science
As we look at the world around us, it’s alarmingly evident that humanity faces significant environmental challenges that are complex, multi-faceted, and of ever-increasing importance. Redeemer’s Environmental Science program studies nature and how humans interact with God’s creation. A strong focus on biology and chemistry equips students to be stewards of the earth and its natural resources, focused on contemporary environmental issues and sustainability.
Environmental Studies
As we look at the world around us, it’s alarmingly evident that humanity faces significant environmental challenges that are complex, multi-faceted, and of ever-increasing importance. Redeemer’s Environmental Studies program studies nature and how humans interact with God’s creation. A strong focus on philosophy, politics and geography equips students to be stewards of the earth and its natural resources, focused on contemporary environmental issues and sustainability.
Health Sciences
Focus on the scientific background of health sciences with courses in biology, chemistry and psychology to become informed about the spiritual, psychological, environmental, and social factors of human health and well-being. Develop a biblical perspective on health within the broader context of human well-being, providing the building block for a variety of careers in health science-related fields.
Health Sciences Professional
Study health and its impact on populations, and personal and societal health and well-being, preparing for alternative health streams such as nursing, midwifery, physical therapy, lab technology, and other post-graduate programs. Redeemer’s Health Sciences Professional program provides an interdisciplinary study of health through biological and psychological concepts that are essential to understanding our physical and emotional selves.
History
History helps us make sense of today’s headlines, from conflict in the Middle East to the challenges facing the Christian church in Western society. But history also helps us step outside our own time and learn from another, as we immerse ourselves in ancient Rome, medieval England, or the totalitarian struggles of the early twentieth century. Redeemer’s History program studies history from a perspective rooted in unchanging biblical truth and ancient Christian wisdom.
International Development
Systematic issues of injustice, poverty, inequality and conflict are increasingly apparent in our world today. How can you make a difference? Redeemer’s International Development program focuses on a holistic and sustainable transformation of communities through aid and global development. By considering global issues from the perspectives of history, business, economics, literature, and philosophy give students an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving, making solid and data-driven arguments, and analyzing systems with empathy and creativity.
International Relations
Examine the role of governments and politics in the development of different cultures and societies across the world. Redeemer’s International Relations program takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the large systemic issues, law, rights, peace and diplomacy which equips students to be informed in all the different elements that underwrite our politics, our markets, and our life together.
Kinesiology
Optimize health and performance and prevent injury and illness by understanding human movement in all its complexities and applications. Redeemer’s Kinesiology program is broad in scope, with opportunities to learn about movement from the perspectives of physiology, anatomy, psychology, sociology, biomechanics, lifestyle and behaviour and ultimately, provides further appreciation to how all humans are fearfully and wonderfully made.

What does it mean to reflect Christ in the workplace and in interactions with customers, colleagues, and competitors? The Management program at Redeemer helps to answer that question while preparing you to be well-rounded, skillful future managers. Prepare to be an impactful Christian leader in the businesses and not-for-profit organizations you serve.
Marketing
The average person encounters thousands of advertisements each day that market everything from ideas to skills to experiences. The Marketing program trains Christian marketers who understand the needs of the customer and are able to develop and execute a clear and compelling marketing strategy in a God-honouring way. You are grounded in a biblical framework for marketing, equipped to think deeply, ask tough questions, and create marketing plans that challenge society’s ethical status quo.
Mathematics
Explore the stimulating world of mathematics as you find, represent, apply and verify numerical and spatial patterns. Develop strong techniques for solving problems and exploring theorems in the context of mathematics’ historical, cultural and philosophical influences as you unfold the potential of creation and can stand in awe of our Creator as you discover the order and patterns within our world.
Media Production
Studying media and communications at Redeemer enables and encourages the next generation of storytellers with the technical skills and Christian vision to live, work, and lead in an evolving media world. Redeemer’s Media Production program equips students to assess and interact with mass media in ways that enable them to discern and understand the influence of the messages they are receiving.

Music plays an important role in our worship and service to God and his church. Redeemer’s Worship in Music program emphasizes faith formation and deepening of the musical dimension of worship.

Be captivated by music as you cultivate your talent and develop your skills. Music plays an important role in our worship and service to God and his church. Redeemer’s Music Performance program provides the biblical, historical, and theoretical context of music through composition, performance, theory, and history under the guidance of experienced, practicing musicians.
Philosophy
What is real? What do we really know? What should we value? How should we live? And what connects things? These are the questions at the heart of Philosophy. Study subjects like metaphysics, epistemology, ethics and aesthetics, working closely with your professors and peers. Redeemer’s Philosophy program will challenge and strengthen your faith as it aims for deep truth, and, as the apostle Peter puts it, “reasons for the hope within you.”
Physical Education
Study human mobility in all its complexities and application and gain a deep appreciation for how we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Redeemer’s Physical Education program teaches about movement from the perspective of physiology, anatomy, psychology, sociology, biomechanics, lifestyle, and behaviour. Develop and share your love of sports, play, and wellness through games, fitness, and athletics.
Politics and International Studies
To study politics is to study justice. How does justice impact the understanding of power, order, peace, and democracy? Redeemer’s Politics & International Studies program equips students to answer the biblical call to love God and our neighbours through faithful, loving institutions — the building blocks of a just global society.
Pre-Medicine
The concepts of health and disease have been shaped by the philosophical ideas and religious commitments that have influenced Western culture. Redeemer’s Pre-Medicine program helps students develop a biblical perspective on health, well-being, disease and medical ethics in addition to a comprehensive study of foundational topics and applicable skills to prepare for the MCAT exam and to apply to medical school.
Psychology
Ever wonder why you do what you do — and what you can do to improve? Psychology at Redeemer studies the whole person created in the image of God, including human thought, emotion, and behaviour. Use scientific, theoretical, and experiential tools to investigate human strengths and well-being.
Recreation Therapy
Redeemer students in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Applied Social Science majors can complete the intensive recreation therapy program in the winter semester of their third year and the summer before their final year at Redeemer. Recreation therapy provides service to, and advocates for, individuals with physical, mental, social, behavioural, or emotional limitations through meaningful experiences in recreation and leisure in a variety of settings.
Social Work
To care for the needs and well-being of others is a high calling. How can Christians shape the social policies, services and resources in ways that respect all people as made in God’s image? To see the dignity and worth of all people? The Social Work program at Redeemer looks at how individuals interact with different social systems, actively studying social justice, anti-oppressive practice and cultural pluralism as ways to seek justice and transformation in communities.
Urban Ministry
In an increasingly globalized world, it is imperative to develop the capacity to learn from, work with and appreciate different cultures and perspectives. In Redeemer’s Urban Ministry program, you will be confronted with both intercultural and urban contexts, learning what it means to announce, demonstrate, and embody the good news of the Kingdom of God, resulting in the transformation and flourishing of communities.
Youth Ministry
Develop the character and skills to mentor and influence youth through ministry. Redeemer’s Youth Ministry program focuses on discipleship, outreach, and cultural engagement as a way to serve God and the youth that make up the church.
