In 1962, an extraordinary dream began—to establish a distinctly Christian university in Canada, a place for equipping students to set the foundation for a full and meaningful life. Founded in 1962, Trinity Western University is dedicated to equipping students to discover meaningful connections between career, life, and the needs of the world. Drawing upon the riches of the Christian tradition, they are committed to uniting faith and reason through excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. A liberal arts education from Trinity Western University is an opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary study, explore a chosen field through different academic perspectives, and prepare for a life and career. Trinity Western University is chartered by the province of British Columbia to grant baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. TWU offers 48 undergraduate and 19 graduate degrees, including a selection of continuing education, degree completion, certificate, and online learning programs. Academic Programs

TWU’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences equips you to analyze, understand, and engage meaningfully with today’s world. Through its many and diverse areas of study, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences provides multiple perspectives on the question, “What does it mean to be human?” Studying the humanities and social sciences will help increase your understanding of the ideas, events, languages, social structures, religious beliefs, and processes that have shaped individuals and societies in the past and present. A degree from any area in the humanities and social sciences can help you change our world, not only through the knowledge gained from your studies, but also through the person you become as you engage with ideas and cultures past and present, local and global.

The Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences offers exceptional and rigorous educational experiences, both in the classroom and the lab. Your science education will be delivered by capable, committed Christian educators who are not only experts in their fields but scholars who continually advance their disciplines through research. Mentorship is helped by our small class sizes—whether you choose to study biology, biotechnology, chemistry, computer science, geography and the environment, geology, mathematics, or physics. Interested in rounding out your academic experience with leadership opportunities? Ask us about becoming a teaching assistant or conducting faculty-supervised research. We also offer exciting options for travel studies and work placements. This broad-based education equips you to make a positive scientific contribution in industry, research, teaching, or the health sciences.

Immerse yourself in what you love best, whether it’s visual or performing arts, media, or communication. Grow with others who are just as passionate and exceptional as you. That’s the beauty of learning in community. You’ll find your people here. SAMC professors are people of faith and experts in their fields who are committed to seeing you thrive. As your mentors, they will build a safe and welcoming space where you will be challenged to take bold steps, explore ideas of faith and meaning, and push the boundaries of your discipline—to fearlessly engage with and transform culture.
