Staff Updates

CIC is pleased to introduce staff members who have joined the organization over the past few months. They will work on a variety of programs and initiatives to serve member institutions.

Maeve King

Projects Coordinator

Maeve King headshot

Maeve King joined CIC in October of 2024 and is the projects coordinator. In this role, she supports a variety of CIC networks, projects, and programs, including CIC’s Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE). Before joining CIC, she worked as a case manager in housing and homeless services and served as an English teaching assistant in Uruguay through the Fulbright Program. King graduated from West Chester University (PA) with a triple major in political science, Spanish, and German and a minor in Latin American and Latinx studies.


Roberta Morehouse

Conference and Program Manager

Roberta Morehouse joined CIC in October of 2024 as the conference and program manager. In this role, she coordinates logistical details and manages registration for the annual Institute for Chief Academic Officers, Presidents Institute, and the biennial Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) Conference. Additionally, Morehouse supports CIC’s annual series of Department and Division Chair Workshops and several spring and summer meetings and seminars. Before joining CIC, Morehouse was the marketing and communications manager for the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T). Before that, she was a meetings manager at the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). She brings over ten years of experience planning association conferences for organizations throughout the DC metropolitan area.


Jacqueline Pfeffer Merrill

Director of the Campus Free Expression Project

Jacqueline Pfeffer Merrill headshot

Jacqueline Pfeffer Merrill joined CIC in August of 2024. She is the director of the Campus Free Expression Project, a project she launched at the Bipartisan Policy Center and brought to CIC in 2024. Earlier in her career, she was on the faculties of College of William & Mary (VA) and St. John’s College (MD). She has also taught at the University of Calgary (Canada), Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Germany), and in the college program at Maryland’s only prison for women. Pfeffer Merrill serves as a trustee of the Association for Core Texts and Courses and is a member of the Virginia 250 Education Steering Committee. She earned a BA at the University of Calgary and an MA and PhD from Duke University (NC).
