Christoph M. Kunkel

Christoph Kunkel joined CIC in 2004 and is the senior vice president and chief of staff. He is responsible for CIC’s administrative and financial operations, and he plays a key role in shaping CIC’s technology and investment activities. He serves as the main liaison to the CIC Board of Directors. A native of Germany, Kunkel studied political science, economics, and history at Heidelberg and Hamburg Universities and the London School of Economics, was a Fulbright Fellow, and received a master’s degree from Cornell University (NY) in government. He occasionally teaches for Cornell’s Summer in Washington program. Kunkel originally joined CIC as assistant to the president and later also served as assistant director of research and director of operations.
