Alexandria Walton Radford is an award-winning author, sociologist, and strategic advisor who turns research, data, and field observations on students’ experiences into actionable insights that help higher education leaders improve student outcomes and strengthen institutions. For more than 20 years, she has led research and evaluation efforts related to college access, student success, post-secondary value, and institutional change for philanthropies, federal agencies, state systems, higher education organizations, and colleges across the country. Her work has been featured in NPR, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The Economist, and other national media outlets. She holds a PhD and MA in sociology from Princeton University (NJ) and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University (DC).

Currently a principal at Sova, she partners with higher education leaders to tackle complex questions, rethink assumptions, and design strategies and frameworks that drive learning, continuous improvement, and impact. Prior to joining Sova, she spent eight years leading large post-secondary research and evaluation centers at both RTI International and the American Institutes for Research.
