Caryn D. Riswold is professor of religion and serves as the Mike and Marge McCoy Family Distinguished Chair in Lutheran Heritage and Mission at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where she is currently co-leading the campus strategic planning process. She is the author of four books, the most recent of which is ReEngaging ELCA Social Teaching on Abortion (Fortress, 2024). A teacher and writer at the intersection of religion, politics, pop culture, and social justice, she is a NetVUE scholar; her chapter, “Vocational Discernment: A Pedagogy of Humanization,” appeared in At This Time and In This Place: Vocation and Higher Education (Oxford, 2016).
