Chinyere Oparah is a transformational higher education leader, strategist and executive coach, with more than 30 years of leadership experience in higher education and the nonprofit sector. She has served in roles ranging from dean to provost and vice president for academic affairs, leading within public and private institutions, including small and mid-sized mission-driven, faith-based, and liberal arts institutions.

Oparah is founder and CEO of the Center for Liberated Leadership, which provides coaching and leadership development for academic and mission-driven leaders navigating institutional complexity, organizational change, and political pressure. Her Liberated Leadership Framework helps leaders cultivate strategic courage, sustainable leadership practices, collaborative decision-making, and organizational cultures that support inclusive excellence and wellbeing.

An internationally recognized public intellectual and professor of sociology and leadership studies, Oparah’s work bridges leadership, social justice, organizational transformation, and educational equity. She also advises institutions on neuroinclusive leadership and workplace design, helping organizations better leverage cognitive diversity while reducing burnout and improving effectiveness. Drawing on extensive experience in academic leadership, change management, strategic planning, and team development, she is passionate about helping higher education leaders to meet the challenges of the current moment with courage, authenticity and purpose.
