Gregor Thuswaldner is the former provost and executive vice president at Whitworth University (WA). Before joining Whitworth in 2020, he served as dean of arts and sciences and professor of humanities at North Park University (IL). In 2006, he received Gordon College’s Distinguished Junior Faculty Award. A past president of the Austrian Studies Association, a member organization of the American Council of Learned Societies, Thuswaldner is an elected member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Pen American Center, and Pen Austria. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Society of Arts, and the Society of Leadership Fellows of St. George’s House at Windsor Castle.
Thuswaldner’s studies include German, English, and higher education. Among his nine books is the forthcoming edited volume, The Provost’s Handbook. He served on the CIC Chief Academic Officers Task Force and as president of the Association of Chief Academic Officers (ACAO).
