Jeff Woods joined CIC as director of presidential engagement in 2022 and was promoted to vice president for member engagement. In this role, Woods has responsibility for CIC’s Presidents Institute, the largest annual meeting of college and university presidents in the country, and other CIC initiatives involving college presidents. Woods previously was a professor of history at Arkansas Tech University. During his more than twenty years at Arkansas Tech, Woods served as head of the Department of History and Political Science, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and co-chair of Arkansas Governor’s School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Kansas, a master’s degree in history from the University of Arkansas, and a PhD from Ohio University.
