Karen An-hwei Lee is provost and professor of English at Wheaton College (IL). As provost, she leads Wheaton’s senior academic leadership team, serves on the senior administrative cabinet, and oversees all aspects of the academic division including the faculty, academic records and services, centers and institutes, global programs and studies, institutional research, library and archives, and intercultural engagement. Before joining Wheaton in 2020, Lee was vice provost of assessment and institutional assessment at Point Loma Nazarene University (CA). She also previously served for nine years as professor and chair of the English department at Vanguard University (CA). A poet, fiction writer, literary critic, and translator, Lee was formerly a voting member of the National Book Critics Circle and a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist’s Grant.
