Matthew Damschroder is vice president for student life and dean of students at Juniata College (PA). In this role, he actively partners with colleagues across the institution to create co-curricular educational experiences and provides vision and support for administrative units including residential life; public safety; rights and responsibilities and student conduct; violence prevention and Title IX; retention and student success; equity, diversity and inclusion; and student health, counseling, and wellness initiatives. Before arriving at Juniata, Damschroder served at Illinois Wesleyan University in a variety of student life leadership roles. Damschroder completed his PhD in educational administration and foundations at Illinois State University, and earned a master’s degree in information systems at Illinois State University and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and English from Drake University (IA). He is a strong advocate for the inclusion and support of students on campus with marginalized identities, and he is active in multiple higher education organizations.
