Michael W. Markowitz is provost and vice president for academic affairs at Felician University (NJ). In this role, he oversees all academic programming and initiatives as well as academic assessment and strategic planning for the university. During more than 25 years in higher education, Markowitz has served as a faculty member and in a variety of administrative positions at several CIC institutions. Most recently, he served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Holy Family University (PA), helping to lead the university through an unprecedented period of academic expansion and growth. His research interests and publications have focused on the ability of criminological theories to explain criminality, as it varies by race, gender, and social class. A frequent contributor to CIC programs. Markowitz is a coordinator of CIC’s Mentoring Program for New Chief Academic Officers.
