Rachel Bowser is vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college at Agnes Scott College (GA), a private women’s liberal arts college where she also holds a faculty appointment as professor of English. Her work spans academic governance, curriculum strategy, institutional partnerships, and legislative advocacy for higher education. Prior to Agnes Scott, she served as associate provost for strategic initiatives at Georgia Gwinnett College and was president of its faculty senate. She holds a PhD in English from Emory University (GA) and has been recognized through an ACE Fellowship and an Aspen Institute Fellowship. Her scholarly background is in Victorian fiction and steampunk studies. At Agnes Scott, she leads initiatives in global women’s leadership, academic program development, and strategic partnerships at the intersection of liberal arts education and civic engagement.
