Bright Hope for Tomorrow: Results from a NetVUE Saga Grant

March 21, 2026

Georgetown College’s NetVUE Grant for Reframing the Institutional Saga focused on three pivotal events: the college’s separation from its founding denomination in 2005, faculty action to prompt a change of presidential administration in 2012, and the removal of all institutional debt ($28.5 million) in 2024. The development of this narrative brought together trustees, faculty members, staff, and the college’s graduates in a process of institutional self-examination. The products of the grant include a book, a 90-minute video, a website, and a commissioned guitar. While the grant was in process, the college developed a new mission statement and renewed its characteristic as a progressive Christian liberal arts college.
