We often assume that student wellbeing is promoted by programs outside of the classroom—in dorms, in student health centers, and in co-curricular activities. But what if the classroom could also serve as a positive space for the intentional cultivation of human flourishing? Join the conference keynote speaker, Meghan Sullivan, and two of her colleagues at the University of Notre Dame for a deeper dive into that institution’s highly successful “God and the Good Life” course, as well as other signature courses in human flourishing. They will discuss proactive classroom strategies for simultaneously studying human flourishing and intentionally promoting it in students. Participants will workshop two assignment ideas and will brainstorm ways to more closely connect academic experiences with student life experiences, with consideration about how this might interface with their other work in vocational exploration and discernment.
