The Educating Character Initiative (ECI), a project of the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University (NC), aims to equip institutions of higher education to integrate character education into their distinctive institutional contexts, curricula, and cultures. Some longstanding NetVUE institutions have recently received grants from (or have begun working with) ECI. During this workshop, leaders will report on the ways that they understand and have navigated both the differences and overlap between their work on vocation with NetVUE and their work on character with ECI. Participants will be invited to reflect on their understanding of vocation and character, as well as how both sets of concerns inform their goals for undergraduate education.
