With the restoration of Pell grants for incarcerated students taking effect in 2023, many colleges and universities are beginning to consider the inclusion of prison programming in their programs of study. During this workshop, leaders from CIC institutions that currently run prison programs will share wisdom and lessons learned about high-impact practice for incarcerated students, as well as offering tips and takeaways for starting conversation on your own campus. The session will be facilitated by Molly Lasagna, senior program officer for expanding postsecondary education in prison at Ascendium.

The interactive seminars cover important issues that currently impact independent higher education. They are designed to be practical and hands on with clear learning outcomes. Each will include examples of replicable models for participants to use when faced with the situations covered by the seminars.
