Amid an ever-shifting job market, internships and other work-based learning opportunities have emerged as a critical bridge between academic learning and workforce preparation. However, there are not enough work-based learning opportunities for all students, and many students struggle to pursue available opportunities due to lack of time, transportation, or social capital. How can colleges and universities provide equitable access to work-based learning experiences so that all students can benefit?
CIC’s Work-Based Learning Consortium, funded through grants from Strada Education Foundation and Ascendium Education Group, aims to address this question at 24 institutions, providing virtual, project-based work experiences that are embedded into courses through Riipen, an online experiential learning platform and marketplace. Join us for a conversation on the Work-Based Learning Consortium and its impact, including insights from participating campuses, Riipen leaders, and Ithaka S+R, the research team leading the evaluation of the Consortium.
This session is generously supported by Strada Education Foundation and Ascendium Education Group.
