Pre-registration is required for this program. Open only to college and university presidents.
This participatory workshop will provide a primer on foundational elements of the president-board relationship—including college bylaws, fiduciary responsibility, and institutional governance—and will address the president’s role in building and guiding an effective board. Using case studies and other materials, facilitators will lead discussions on a range of topics including handling contentious conversations; presidential evaluation; and strategic leadership, planning, and policy. The workshop is designed to be highly engaging and interactive, with many opportunities for presidents to ask questions and share their own experiences with one another in a confidential setting.
