Two Models, One Calling: Flexible Faculty Development for Vocational Integration

March 20, 2026

Educators from two small Catholic universities will present two models for faculty development and vocational education. One approach—a year-long faculty cohort model—is based on Catholic Social Teaching and promotes vocational exploration, especially among students from traditionally underserved communities. A second approach, a full-day faculty workshop model that emphasizes the institution’s mission, is dedicated to the Catholic intellectual tradition and links vocational education with community-engaged learning across the disciplines. The presenters will share their “lessons learned” and resources to help participants develop mission-informed projects at their institutions.
