Three years ago, the College of the Ozarks (MO) initiated a program called Vocation Trip. This program allows rural, economically disadvantaged students to participate in a weeklong travel course that helps them consider their callings and vocation as they develop mission and vision statements and tour regional businesses. These experiences broaden the students’ perspectives, deepening their sense of vocation. This session will focus on the impact of this program, how it helps students transition well into life after college, and how the course employs vocation labs and travel experience to broaden students’ perspectives on themselves, their work, and their lives.
