Council of Independent Colleges Begins Pilot Corporate Affiliate Program with Two Initial Offerings

September 2023 – Washington, DC

The Council of Independent Colleges is piloting a Corporate Affiliate program to provide members with discounted services and products and, at the same time, encourage companies to invest in the independent higher education sector.

We are excited to announce two initial offerings:

Title IX Compliance by Student Ally
(A Title IX service to streamline compliance, reporting, and training)

Student Ally is offering a 50–70 percent reduction on their full Title IX compliance platform. For institutions not looking yet for a full solution, Student Ally has agreed to provide heavily discounted Title IX compliance audits and free training for campuses.

Business Model Redesign by Core Education PBC
(An operating partner to help transform the business model for small colleges into a long-term sustainable operation)

Specifically for CIC institutions, Core has developed a revenue and loss analysis and agreed to offer this service at a notable discount. The full price of this Prosperity Review also serves as a credit with future engagements. Core also has agreed to provide complimentary board development sessions for a set number of CIC member institutions.

Before entering into a partnership, CIC staff conducts an extensive review and negotiation process to ensure savings are significant, and that the company is committed to serving member institutions. Only CIC institutional members are eligible for the negotiated arrangements with and offers from Corporate Affiliate partners, and there is no obligation or expectation for any CIC member to hire any of the affiliate companies.

With these offers in hand, members contract directly with the partners. CIC cannot offer any guarantee of satisfaction or fit for a particular institution. CIC will continue to negotiate savings on services that can make a difference to member institutions and increase the value of a CIC membership. CIC receives modest revenue from these affiliates, which helps us keep membership dues low. The Corporate Affiliate program reaffirms CIC’s dedication to institutional health and long-term partnership.

For more information about the Corporate Affiliate program, contact Matt Trainum, vice president for networks and strategic partnerships, at mtrainum@cic.edu.

To participate in the Corporate Affiliate program, companies must also be sponsors of a CIC event; for more information about sponsorship please contact Alana K. Cassidy, CIC director of sponsorships, by email at acassidy@cic.edu.
