Barbara K. Mistick

Barbara K. Mistick is president of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, leading the policy and advocacy organization since 2019. During her tenure, she has worked to ensure private, nonprofit colleges and universities are treated equitably in the legislative and regulatory arenas in Washington, DC. Over the course of her career in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Mistick has led institutions such as Wilson College (PA), the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, the H.J. Heinz School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University (PA), and others.
