Erin A. VanLaningham

Erin VanLaningham is director of project development for NetVUE. In this role, she leads and directs seminars on vocation, writing, and scholarship, serves as the book and resource review editor for Studies in Vocation and Calling, and cohosts NetVUE’s podcast, Callings: Conversations on College, Career, and a Life Well Lived. As the editor of the NetVUE Scholarly Resources Project, Erin contributed to and edited Called Beyond Our Selves: Vocation and the Common Good (Oxford, 2024) and recently completed work on the forthcoming edited volume Vocation, Higher Education and the Future: Imagining Possibilities, Cultivating Practices (Oxford, 2027). Other scholarship includes co-editing Cultivating Vocation in Literary Studies (Edinburgh, 2022). She is professor of English and special advisor to the president at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. In 2017, Erin participated in the inaugural NetVUE faculty seminar on Teaching Vocational Exploration, subsequently adapting and leading a similar seminar at her own institution through a NetVUE professional development grant. Erin holds a BA from Luther College, an MA from Northeastern University, and a PhD from Saint Louis University, all in English.
