Gregor Thuswaldner is vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at LaRoche University (PA). He came to LaRoche in 2025 from Whitworth University (WA), where he was professor of world languages and cultures and served as provost and executive vice president. Prior to that, Thuswaldner was acting provost, dean of arts and sciences, and professor of humanities at North Park University (IL). Earlier in his career, he was professor of German and linguistics at Gordon College (MA), where he also chaired the department of language and literatures for six years and served as interim director and senior fellow of the center for faith and inquiry. Thuswaldner is the author or editor of many scholarly publications on topics ranging from literary theory, history, religion, and politics to higher education. His most recent book is The Chief Academic Officer’s Handbook: A Provost’s Guide to Visionary Leadership, for which Thuswaldner served both as editor and chapter author.
