John D. Barton

John D. Barton is professional development program officer for NetVUE and co-host of the NetVUE podcast, “Callings: Conversations on College, Career, and a Life Well Lived.” His home institution is Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he serves as Associate Director of Vocational Development for the Institute for Faith and Learning. John previously served as director of the Center for Faith and Learning at Pepperdine University, and provost at Rochester Christian University. His areas of research and teaching include African philosophy, religious literacy, Christian studies, and interreligious peacebuilding. He was the recipient of the 2021 Howard A. White Teaching Award at Pepperdine and is author of Better Religion: A Primer for Interreligious Peacebuilding (Baylor, 2022).
