Jorge Gonzalez is the current CIC president in residence. He served as president of Kalamazoo College (MI) from 2016 to 2026. Previously, he served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college at Occidental College (CA). Before that, he was a faculty member at Trinity University (TX), where he also served as chair of the economics department and as special assistant to the president. Gonzalez has been a board member of the American Council on Education, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Council of Independent Colleges, the Annapolis Group, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, the F.W. and Elsie L. Heyl Science Scholarship Fund, the Great Lakes Colleges Association, the Michigan Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
