Karen An-hwei Lee is provost and professor of English at Wheaton College (IL). Before joining Wheaton in 2020, she served as vice provost of assessment and institutional effectiveness at Point Loma Nazarene University (CA). Earlier, Lee had a 16-year career at Vanguard University of Southern California where she held the positions of English department chair and faculty member and director of educational effectiveness. Her scholarly interests include 20th century British and American literature, Asian Anglophone literatures and post-colonial studies, and translation studies. Lee also is a novelist and an award-winning poet. She was a 2005 National Endowment for the Arts fellow.
