Mary Helen Immordino-Yang is the Fahmy and Donna Attallah Professor of Humanistic Psychology and professor of education, psychology, and neuroscience at the University of Southern California. In 2019, she founded the USC Center for Affective Neuroscience, Development, Learning and Education (CANDLE), which she continues to direct. Immordino-Yang earned her doctorate from Harvard University (MA) in 2005 and completed her postdoctoral training in social-affective neuroscience at the University of Southern California in 2008. In 2023, Immordino-Yang was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Education, and in 2025 she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
