Tracy S. Parkinson, executive vice president and provost at Mars Hill University since 2020, came to Mars Hill from Coker University, where he most recently served as executive vice president and acting president. From 2011 to 2017, he was Coker’s provost. Before his arrival at Coker, Parkinson was professor of modern languages and held several administrative positions at King College (TN). His professional activities are wide-ranging and include work with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the CIC Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education, the Yes We Must Coalition, and the John Gardner Institute. His service roles have included the board of trustees of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center and the board of directors of Hartsville, SC United Way. Parkinson also is a past participant in CIC’s Executive Leadership Academy and CIC’s Colloquium on Leadership for Chief Academic Officers.
