Building Together: Collaborating to Maximize and Innovate

November 2, 2025

Collaboration is not only an idealistic concept; it has become essential in a time of constricting resources and increasing expectations in higher education. The challenges that students bring to campuses are more complex—including academic, social, financial, and mental health—requiring comprehensive attention that neither academic nor student affairs can provide in isolation. Focusing on efforts that align learning with wellbeing, personal development, and career readiness through a strategic alliance enhances the outcomes of student success. This session will explore successful collaborations between academic and student affairs at three independent universities which have yielded positive outcomes for their campus communities. Their efforts have reshaped the student experience through collaborative and meaningful dialogue, interaction, and practice. Additionally, the panel will highlight the importance and strategies used to establish systematic consistency to promote partnership and communication as the norm when designing holistic learning.
