Grounded in the belief that equity is foundational to academic excellence, this session shares how one university is operationalizing inclusion not as a stand-alone goal, but as a deeply integrated principle guiding all departments, programs, and offices. It offers a candid and strategic look into the shared work of embedding inclusive practices across all dimensions of institutional life—from pedagogy and hiring to advising, leadership, and student support. The presentation will detail specific initiatives and practices that have been implemented across the institution, including:
- Inclusive Teaching and Curriculum Transformation
- Equity-Minded Hiring and Faculty Development
- Student Success and Holistic Support
- Institutional Learning and Leadership Development
At the end of this session, participants will be able to: Design and sustain a cross-functional team structure that aligns inclusive excellence with academic affairs, student success, and institutional planning; identify concrete strategies for embedding inclusive practices in advising, faculty development, curriculum design, and student recruitment across departments and administrative units, and navigate leadership transitions with intentionality to ensure the continuity and sustainability of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
