Mission-Aligned Institutional Resilience

January 5, 2026 Waterside Ballroom 12

This session will examine multiple ways an institution can find resilience (for itself and for its students) through deeper attention to its mission, drawing on its roots in some form of religious affiliation—whether broadly church-related, denominationally-focused, faith-based, or through a primarily historical relationship to religion. You’ll hear from executives who direct church-related associations about how a focus on holistic student development, belonging, character formation, and other mission-aligned efforts can make your institution stronger. Examples will be shared to help interpret what it means to draw on an institution’s religious roots in ways that benefit all constituencies, regardless of their individual religious beliefs.
