This year has been another active period for politics and higher education. The Biden administration is making its mark with proposed changes to Title IX, significant increases to the Pell Grant, a plethora of pending changes to student aid rules, new accountability proposals for colleges, and defenses to affirmative action challenges. State government incursions into matters such as tenure, academic freedom, and curriculum continue to influence national politics. The leader of the national association that advocates for federal policy affecting independent higher education will discuss the implications for the sector and the impact presidents and other higher education leaders can have on policy and legislative agendas.

Moderator: Marjorie Hass, President, CIC
