CIC and Interfaith America (IA) are hosting a multidisciplinary seminar on Teaching Interfaith Understanding for full-time faculty members at CIC member colleges and universities. This seminar, led by Laurie Patton, president of Middlebury College, and Eboo Patel, founder and president of Interfaith America, will examine the substantial theoretical questions inherent in teaching interfaith understanding and explore the practical work of translating these ideas into courses.

Vocation Across Campus: Supporting Students’ Search for Meaning is designed for staff who direct campus programs or serve in other long-term administrative capacities, but who do not also hold faculty appointments.

The Presidential Vocation and Institutional Mission program is designed for senior leaders at CIC member schools to explore their potential calling to serve as a college or university president. The program is designed to help participants explore their vocational calling, as well as examine what types of institutional missions they might best serve.

The Faculty Leadership Academy is designed to support faculty members at CIC member colleges and universities who aspire to assume leadership roles in higher education—particularly those who have demonstrated a commitment to inclusive leadership.

Each year, NetVUE hosts a series of events for scholars in the fields of theology and religious studies at NetVUE member institutions prior to the Annual Meetings of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature.

This NetVUE regional gathering will focus on exploring the future of higher education at the intersection of Whole Person Education and vocational formation. In a time of rapid technological change, this event will invite educators to reflect on how we can prepare students not just for careers, but for meaningful lives of service, purpose, and resilience.

Celebrating NetVUE’s new resource, Encuentra: Conversation Cards on Calling, Career, and a Life Well-Lived” this regional gathering explores and celebrates the role of culture in human experience and understanding of the world and one’s calling. Participant experience of the food, music, dance, art, and language of the diverse Hispanic, Latine, Latin American, and U.S. Latine cultures in Fresno and the surrounding communities frames sessions exploring the origin and unique contribution of these conversation cards, and how culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy can help foster vocational exploration and discernment.
