- How do we retain values, identity, and spiritual growth in increasingly virtual and automated learning contexts?
In a time of rapid technological change, this event will invite educators to reflect on how we can prepare students not just for careers, but for meaningful lives of service, purpose, and resilience. Rooted in AHU’s commitment to faith-informed, holistic education, the gathering will highlight practices that integrate vocational exploration with whole-person development. The gathering will engage faculty, administrators, and mission leaders from a wide range of colleges and universities. Through shared learning, peer dialogue, and collaboration, participants will consider how institutions can nurture belonging, wellbeing, fulfillment, and purpose in students and educators alike.
Pre-Gathering Workshop
Thinking Vocationally About AI
Thursday, December 3, 2:00–5:00 p.m.
Interested in exploring how your institution can approach thinking strategically about AI through the lens of vocation and mission? Come early to this regional gathering to participate in Thinking Vocationally about AI, a workshop designed to help campus leaders, faculty members, and staff engage in conversations about AI as an invitation to deepen institutional discernment. In this workshop, participants will explore frameworks for grounding AI conversations in institutional mission and values as well as discuss strategies for facilitating thoughtful and purposeful cross-campus dialogue. This conversation is open to all—those just starting campus conversations about AI, those seeking to bring cross-disciplinary stakeholders together, and those looking to develop mission-aligned practices.
Register for the pre-conference workshop, which is available at no cost to individuals and teams attending the AdventHealth Regional Gathering. Participants must register separately for the Regional Gathering.
The workshop is led by Rachael Baker, NetVUE associate director and Noah Silverman, NetVUE director of program development.
