For participants in CIC programs, in-person events, and gatherings, CIC has established the following guidelines for symptoms related to respiratory or communicable diseases:
If participants feel ill prior to an event, they are encouraged to isolate and/or wear a mask in the presence of others.
If flu-like symptoms persist and they are typical of COVID-19, participants are strongly urged to take a COVID-19 test in advance of the relevant in-person event(s). Those who test positive for COVID-19 are required to contact CIC to discuss participation options in advance of any travel. Negative test results do not need to be reported to CIC. Any participant who becomes ill or tests positive for COVID-19 during a CIC event is required to alert CIC immediately and self-isolate.
All participants, who are able and eligible, are encouraged to be fully up to date on vaccines. All CIC events are mask-friendly.
Protocols
As appropriate to specific locations and circumstances, CIC will provide information about local medical resources and testing options and provide supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers. By attending the event, you acknowledge personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of others.
These recommendations may be modified at any time in response to evolving national, regional, or local recommendations for respiratory or communicable diseases, or in response to the requirements of event venues or partners.
Questions about CIC’s Health and Safety policies may be directed to Allison Barkley, CIC editorial content specialist, at abarkley@cic.edu.
