Donna Carroll, Executive Director, Association of Catholic College and Universities
Donna M. Carroll joined the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) in September 2023 as executive director. Prior to joining ACCU, Donna served with distinction as president of Dominican University (IL) for 27 years from 1994–2021. She recently completed a two-year appointment as an Interfaith America Fellow while simultaneously serving as interim president of North Central College (IL) from 2022–2023.
A counselor educator by discipline, Carroll speaks and writes about leadership, vocation, and resilience. She is recognized nationally as an outspoken advocate for immigration reform and the rights of undocumented students. Carroll has received numerous academic, civic, and diocesan awards, including the Rev. Theodore Hesburgh Award, for her justice-oriented leadership and contributions to Catholic higher education. She has been a facilitator for CIC’s Presidential Vocation and Institutional Mission Seminar since 2013 and enjoys coaching new and aspiring college presidents.
