In this webinar we will hear from faculty teaching in a variety of disciplines about ideas on integrating Miller-McLemore’s recent book, Follow Your Bliss and Other Lies About Calling, in undergraduate classrooms. Presenters include, Brian Bowman, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Campbell University; Deirdre Egan-Ryan, Professor of English at St. Norbert College; Jason Mahn, Professor of Religion at Augustana College (IL); and Bradley Pardue, Professor of History at College of the Ozarks.

Follow Your Bliss and Other Lies About Calling is the text for the NetVUE 2025-2026 Big Read. Staff, faculty, and administrators at NetVUE institutions are invited to engage together and discuss the Big Read on their campuses. This year focuses on considering the complexities of calling that may include loss, regret, failure, impediments, frustration, overload, conflict, and challenges.
We will gather on Thursday, November 13th, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern (3:00 Central, 2:00 Mountain, 1:00 Pacific). The webinar is open to anyone at a NetVUE member institution at no cost, but registration is required.
Please share this information with your colleagues. We hope that you will consider using the webinar as a springboard for further campus conversations that are tailored to your own context.
