NetVUE Information

Institutions may have questions about other NetVUE resources and opportunities during your visit. You may find it helpful to familiarize yourself with the information on this page. If you don’t know the answer to a question or don’t feel comfortable answering on the spot, please let them know that someone will follow up with them after the visit. NetVUE Grants

Note: You can ask Rachael before the visit or before writing the visit report for a consultation about an institutions eligibility for any particular grant program.

Professional Development Awards

Purpose: for professional development activities that enhance the knowledge, skills, and expertise of faculty and staff members who play important roles in undergraduate vocational initiatives.

Time Frame: 1 year, application due late Spring

Amount: up to $20,000

Program Development Grants

Purpose: to deepen, expand, refresh, or otherwise strengthen vocational exploration programs that are already underway and supported by NetVUE member colleges and universities.

Time Frame: 2 years, application due late Fall

Amount: up to $100,000

Vocation Across the Academy Grants

Purpose: to help colleges and universities develop more effective ways to strengthen the link between these two purpose of undergraduate education.

Time Frame: 4 years, application due late Spring

Amount: three years of funding of up to $140,000 (donor match funds required for year 3)

Grants for Reframing the Institutional Saga

Purpose: to enable institutions to produce an updated account of their history and mission in light of their current context.

Time Frame: 2 years, application due early Fall

Amount: up to $60,000

Grant for Fostering Leadership for Communities of Faith

Purpose: to develop or extend programming for students, and/or professional development for faculty members and staff, with the goal of connecting students to local faith communities and supporting these students as they explore and discern their callings.

Time Frame: 2 years, application due late Fall

Amount: $25,000 to $40,000

Other Professional Development Opportunities

The NetVUE Big Read

The Big Read is an opportunity for faculty, administrators, and staff to continue the discussion about vocation on campus. Newer institutions that have not participated in the Big Read before can choose past books (like Living Vocationally or The Purpose Gap) if that would be a better fit for their campus.

NetVUE Seminars

If you encounter someone who is particularly engaged or interested in doing more with vocation, encourage them to consider being nominated for either our Faculty Summer Seminar or Staff Summer Seminar.

NetVUE Campus Visit Program

If institutions are interested in learning more about a program at another NetVUE member campus, they can get support to do so through the Campus Visit program.

NetVUE Conversation Cards

The NetVUE Conversation Cards are a great way to support faculty and staff in facilitating vocational conversations with their students. NetVUE will provide a certain number of free decks to each campus. Additional decks may be ordered through their campus’s NetVUE Campus Contact.
