Measuring and Cultivating DEI Culture to Influence Student Outcomes

Credo’s Moving the Needle (MTN) Pathways Survey asks undergraduates about their institution’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) through several questions which are then used to compute a DEI Scale. Nearly all undergraduate respondents (96%) with high DEI evaluations plan to return, whereas only 85% of those with low evaluations intend to come back, and this relationship is more pronounced for returning students with only 77% with low DEI scores indicating plans to return. Join us for a conversation about the complex relationship between students’ perceptions of the institution’s DEI climate, their personal characteristics, and ultimately the influence of these efforts to drive student outcomes. Arcadia University (PA) President Ajay Nair will share stories of courage in centering justice, cultivating a vibrant discussion that cuts through politics to uplift outcomes to contribute to a thriving student experience.
