New NetVUE Scholarly Resource to Explore Hope, Imagination, and Resilience
Vocation, Higher Education, and the Future: Imagining Possibilities, Cultivating Practices—the newest volume in the NetVUE Scholarly Resources Project— is now in production with Oxford University Press. The volume offers practical guidance, examples, and ideas for navigating the current pressures of higher education, highlighting vocational exploration and discernment in undergraduate education. The various contributors emphasize hope, imagination, and resilience as educators prepare students for career and life. The sections of the volume connect professional and personal purpose across campus and within the community, prioritizing connection and transformation. In so doing, the future becomes a place of vocational hope.
The volume’s editor, Erin VanLaningham (who also serves as NetVUE’s director of project development) and authors from the volume will be at a NetVUE Regional Gathering at Wake Forest University in March 2027 to celebrate the launch of the book and to engage in conversation around these questions: How does vocational practice and pedagogy help students find meaning in the midst of crisis? How can education for vocation foster hope for the future?
