Callings: Conversations on College, Career, and a Life Well-Lived
With episodes released every month, NetVUE’s podcast continues to provide new invitations to reflect on and discuss vocational exploration with college students. Read below for descriptions of the first episodes of the seventh season.
Agents of Repair | Norman Wirzba
Re-released October 12, 2026
This episode is a re-release of the interview with Norman Wirzba from Season 4 of Callings. Wirzba works at the intersections of theology, philosophy, ecology, and agrarian and environmental studies. His recent book, Love’s Braided Dance: Hope in a Time of Crisis, is also NetVUE’s Big Read selection this year. While this episode was recorded prior to this book’s release, the conversation touches on many of the same themes as Love’s Braided Dance does. Wirzba discusses vocation in terms of our relationship to others and to the land, as an expression of love, and as a call to be agents of repair in the world.

Moments of Annunciation | David Brooks
Released September 14, 2026
The first episode of this season of Callings features David Brooks, one of the most recognized public intellectuals of our time. “Finding your calling,” he suggests, “is more like falling in love than it is like making a decision. It just happens to you.” In this episode, he explores how vocational exploration and discernment are rooted in our emotions and desires. He advises listeners to pay attention to what they really want in life, along with recommending that everyone have three adventures every decade. Attuned to the visceral nature of our callings, he encourages listeners to be attentive to what he calls “moments of annunciation” and those little vibrations deep inside that affirm that we might just be on the right path.
