Topical Resource Guides
A new digital resource is available to NetVUE members: Topical Resource Guides. Designed by a group of experts in particular fields from across the network, these guides support member institutions as they explore possibilities for embedding vocation into specific areas of the student experience, curricular and co-curricular. Drawing on NetVUE’s long experience in developing programs, services, and print and digital resources, these guides serve as a collection point for the wide range of materials that NetVUE has to offer about particular topics.
Eight guides have been created thus far: belonging and flourishing; general education; the first year; the sophomore (or “middle”) year; capstone programs; the major and academic disciplines; advising and mentoring; and career services and professional preparation.
Each guide offers a comprehensive orientation to the topic in quick, accessible form. Each one includes an introduction to the relevant issues, questions to consider, digital resources to further ground in the topic, and sample activities to use with students.
The guides will be useful to individual educators, but they work even better as prompts for conversation, exploration, and imagination among a group of campus professionals. Please spread the word on your campus and share the guides with relevant offices and departments.
NetVUE is also offering a webinar on these guides, which also includes information on NetVUE consultations, and the online library. The goal of this webinar is to help colleagues gain familiarity with these resources and to begin exploring ways of making use of them at their institutions.
