CIC offers the annual Department and Division Chair Workshops to strengthen leadership at the departmental level. The workshops are designed to serve both experienced and new chairs of departments or divisions at independent colleges and universities.

The Foundation Conversation is an annual meeting of dialogue for corporate and private foundation officers and leaders of liberal arts colleges and universities.

The Public History Institute is designed for 3-person teams: two faculty and/or staff members from a CIC member institution plus one representative from a community-based organization. The focus will be on the public memory and interpretation of slavery, explored through seminars, site visits, and practical design workshops for public-facing activities.

New Currents in Teaching Philosophy helps philosophy instructors at smaller liberal arts colleges offer undergraduate students a more compelling and attractive experience. The Institute brings together dedicated philosophy instructors from CIC member institutions and introduces them to the designers of highly innovative, field-tested philosophy courses that serve students in a variety of majors and fields of study.

“Power and Absence: Connecting Renaissance Art to Diverse Audiences ," a seminar for CIC faculty members in art history, the arts, and other disciplines, such as history and English, will explore representations of difference in European art, ca. 1400–1700. Victor Coonin, professor of art and art history at Rhodes College, will lead the seminar that will draw upon the museum's rich collections.

The Faculty Seminar is designed for individual faculty members from CIC member institutions who want to enhance their research and teaching about the multiple legacies of American slavery.

CIC and Interfaith America (IA) are hosting a multidisciplinary seminar on Teaching Interfaith Understanding for full-time faculty members at CIC member colleges and universities. This seminar, led by Laurie Patton, president of Middlebury College, and Eboo Patel, founder and president of Interfaith America, will examine the substantial theoretical questions inherent in teaching interfaith understanding and explore the practical work of translating these ideas into courses.

CIC is hosting an online conversation on how to use Open Educational Resources (OER) and Practices (OEP) to make teaching more inclusive and culturally responsive.
